Dear Members of the UMBC Community,
UMBC’s annual Convocation ceremony is our traditional way to gather as a campus community before classes start to welcome our new students and their families. While we cannot be together physically, we hope you will join us virtually so that we can celebrate together.
Join Us for Convocation
Wednesday, August 26, 2020
Live remarks begin at 3 p.m.
The Convocation ceremony will include live remarks from President Freeman Hrabowski and other campus leaders, followed by a special virtual version of the traditional pinning ceremony. During this ceremony, new students put on their UMBC paw print pins and become official members of our Retriever community. As always, we will conclude with the singing of our Alma Mater. New students received additional information about the ceremony in their welcome box. A link to a recording of the event will be available later this week if you are unable to attend the live event.
We can’t wait to officially welcome our new students to the UMBC community. We hope you will join us for this special event!
