We are excited to announce that we have two leadership positions now open!
The Indigenous Peoples' Union is structured to honor horizontal governance as much as possible, where we collaborate with one another throughout different projects and programs without concern for hierarchies.
While we adhere to UMBC student org. policies and titles, we are currently building momentum for leadership positions to mainly serve as liaisons for union committees as part of our horizontal model. These committees center different services to the native community from UMBC to Baltimore and beyond.
This spring, the two lead positions that are open to all are:
- Treasurer (UMBC Title) // Lead of Event Planning (Union Title)
- Vice-President (UMBC Title) // Lead of Health & Wellness (Union Title)
Due to some time constraints, we will be more lenient to the requirements for the lead positions. Refer to the IPU Constitution for more details on what each position's responsibilities are and the requirements.
If you or someone you know is interested, please email c280@umbc.edu stating your interest, desired position, and availability for a quick and casual meeting!
Please share with others and look out for upcoming posts this spring semester!
