This event is a collaboration with American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress, Maryland Traditions, and UMBC Public Humanities. It will feature two short documentaries on Mexican foodways in New Orleans and Baltimore along with programming (a drag show performance, a youth run traditional folkloric dance performance, a Mariachi band, and food, of course!). UMBC Public Humanities students produced materials to support the programming.
Baltimore Magazine will feature a story on this event and the short films. See here.
There will be a shuttle from UMBC to the event which we have a sign up sheet with info here. This event is free and open to the public. We are asking for people to reserve their spot here.
