When Faculty Says "X," They mean "Y" is designed as a panel of faculty members who will help graduate students, particularly PhD students, navigate departmental culture and understand the unwritten rules of graduate school, talk about mentorship, research, expectations, and the importance of a good, healthy, and proactive communication with their mentees.
When Faculty Says "X" they mean "Y" it's part of our annual professional development seminars for Graduate Students at UMBC.
