Title: Rigorous analysis of a series solution for the solute release profile from a 1-D slab

Abstract: In this talk, I will examine a solution to the 1-D heat equation which has properties useful to the study of drug delivery. It has previously been derived via Laplace transform methods that for small times t, the drug released is proportional to square root t. I provide a rigorous analysis of a series solution obtained via reflection and superposition to demonstrate the square root t behavior.
