Title
The Availability Function and Its Applications in Telegrapher Processes
Abstract:
We define the availability function , A(t), of repairable systems, as the total length of time in (0,t) in which the system operates. We model the ON and OFF periods as alternating renewal processes. The distribution function P{A(t)<=x} is derived. We then derive the distribution of the location X(t) of a telegrapher process at time t, starting at X(0)=0, and of a Wiener process mounted on a telegrapher process.
