Tttle: Porting and Tuning Numerical Kernels in Real-World Applications to the Many-Core Intel Phi
Abstract:
Abstract:
Modern architectures with multiple memory hierarchies in CPU and the many-core Intel Phi offer opportunities to drastically speed up numerical kernels. Tuning numerical kernels to accelerators such as the Intel Phi coprocessor can benefit a number of problems and algorithms. In particular, algorithms that are highly parallel and can take advantage of the complex memory hierarchies can benefit from the Intel Phi. We report results for the elliptic test problem in two and three dimensions as well as initial results for a model of calcium waves in a heart cell and a model of pancreatic beta cells.
