Title: Stability of Maxwell's equations with a conductivity term
Speaker: Matthias Eller, Georgetown University
Abstract: We will review several results concerning the stability of the dissipative linear wave equation. After that we move on to Maxwell's equations where the conductivity term introduces a natural interior dissipation. This problem is more challenging since it involves a system of PDE. Important ingredients of our approach are the analysis of solutions or higher regularity as well as a unique continuation property of the time-harmonic Maxwell equations.
