- Addressing some issues in multiple testing with false discovery rates: Using Extended Likelihood Approach
- Abstract
- When conducting multiple testing, there are some issues which arise with regard to the extent to which baseline responses from the individual tests are utilized. Lee & Bjørnstad (2012) address these issues through the use of extended likelihood approach in constructing likelihood ratio tests for multiple testing. The rationale behind this approach and some simulation results from Lee & Bjørnstad (2012) are presented and the implications of attempting to apply this approach in a motivating study is discussed.

- A Data Assimilation Algorithm for a Planetary Geostrophic Viscous Model
- Abstract
- I will introduce the topic of data assimilation and where is it used in todays world. Then I will summarize the derivation of the PGVM and where it comes from. Finally, I will present some data assimilation results and future work regarding convergence of the algorithm under different errors.
