On Feb. 21, 2020, the ME S-STEM scholarship program sponsored a research seminar with the ME and Math Departments at UMBC. The research seminar was given by Dr. Charles Meneveau at Hopkins. Dr. Meneveau is Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Professor of Environmental Health and Engineering at JHU, a fellow of APS, ASME and AMS, and an elected member of NAE. He showed the audience how to use advance numerical simulation tools to optimize wind turbine. Dr. Meneveau also provided information of including economic consideration in the design. After the talk, Dr. Meneveau stayed to continue to answer questions from students and faculty.
