Spring Awakening
The classic coming-of-age rock musical

The UMBC Musical Theatre Club presents Spring Awakening! In this coming-of-age rock musical, students in late nineteenth century Germany are caught between parents who shed too little light on the facts of puberty and sex, and teachers who place too much pressure on students regarding their academic performance. Abuse is shared in secret, relations are conducted with little comprehension of their consequences, and release is sought from both sexual frustration and from the pressures of life.
CONTENT WARNING: Spring Awakening contains rape/sexual assault and suicide. Recommended for 16+.
ACCESSIBILITY: Some American Sign Language is incorporated into the choreography of the show. An interpreter for the entire show will be present at Friday's performance.
Spring Awakening will be performed in the Fine Arts Recital Hall at UMBC. Shows are on Friday, April 12th at 8pm, Saturday, April 13th at 2pm and 8pm, and Sunday, April 14th at 8pm. Tickets are available at tickets.umbc.edu - they're FREE for UMBC students with a red ID and $7 for guests.
