You are invited to the UMBC Africana Studies International Conference on "African Women, Civil Wars, and Peacebuilding" on May 17-18, 2023. The conference will start on the 17th at 8:30 am with breakfast and registration; and a plenary session featuring a special panel by UMBC students (both undergraduate and graduate) at 9:15 am - 10:30 am; and an opening ceremony; which will be followed by a talk by the first keynote speaker at 11 am - 12 noon; and lunch (African delicious meal) at 12-1 pm. The Opening Session will take place at UC 312. There will be panel sessions on the 17th (ending at 4 pm) and 18th (ending at 2 pm). The conference will close with a Banquet of African food and music at 7-10 pm on the 18th, UC Ballroom. See the attached Speakers' Flyer.
UMBC students are not required to pay any registration fees, but they have to complete a Google Form to reserve a spot to attend the conference. Please, indicate the sessions you would attend.
