Good morning and happy Monday everyone! Today we are going to discuss intelligence!

An outline for todays presentation:

{Firstly, we will look at what Intelligence is, and how AI sheds light on what we humans call intelligence.  

We will explore whether intelligence is something static, and whether it is just one trait, or many we arbitrarily group together. (I will argue the second).

I feel looking at AI helps clarify things a lot that are often murky to talk about.  

Finally we will discuss the Chinese room problem, questioning whether consciousness is something separate from intelligence, or just one type of many intelligences we have.}

The central question is: What is Intelligence, and does AI have intelligence?

All will take place today; in PAHB 229 from 4-5 pm.
