Sherman Hall 461 12pm to 1pm
Tiely Santos has been a part of Brazilian hip hop culture for more than 30 years. He began his career as an actor, dancer, photographer, and as a rapper with the defunct group Tribo Cerebral and later with Fator Etico, one of the groups belonging to Alianca Negra Posse. Considered the first Trans Man of Brazilian rap, Tiely has stayed in Sao Paulo, performing in films, theater, and TV. He also writes poetry, blogs, and novels. In his projects, Tiely always seeks LGBTQIAP+ artists, thus ensuring space within hip hop culture for them. He hopes that hip hop culture can be a springboard to change in other segments of society.
He will be here to discuss his artwork, activism and new book, TRANSPOETHICALBODY.
