Guidance Resources – UMBC’s Employee Assistance Program
There are two ways to access Guidance Resources:
- Call 855-410-7628. You will speak to a counseling professional who will listen to your concerns and can guide you to the appropriate services you require.
- Visit Guidance Resources at www.guidanceresources.com and enter our company ID: USMEAP
Regular and Contingent II (C2) employees have access to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) at no charge to the employee. The services can also be used for members of the employee’s household.
Guidance Resources is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to you and your household members.
Go online to access timely, expert information on thousands of topics, including relationships, work, school, children, immigration, wellness, legal, financial and free time. You can search for qualified child and elder care, attorneys and financial planners as well as ask questions, take self-assessments and more.

Free Confidential Counseling
Guidance Resources provides short-term counseling services for you and your household members to help you handle concerns constructively, before they become major issues. Call anytime about concerns such as marital, relationship and family problems; stress, anxiety and depression; grief and loss, job pressures and substance abuse. Legal Support
With Guidance Resources, you have an attorney “on call” whenever you have questions about legal matters. When you call Guidance Resources, you will be connected to a highly trained, caring clinician who will talk with you about your situation and schedule a phone appointment for you with a Guidance Resources staff attorney. If you need more immediate help, you can be connected to an attorney directly.
Guidance Resources attorneys can help with: Immigration concerns; Family law matters (including divorce, custody, child support and adoption); Bankruptcy and credit issues; Landlord/tenant issues (including eviction and lease questions); Real estate and foreclosure questions; and living wills.
Work-Life Solutions
Too much to do, and too little time to get it all done? The work-life specialists can do the research for you, and provide qualified referrals and customized resources for child and elder care, moving, pet care, college planning, home repair, buying a car, planning an event, selling a house and more.
Financial Information
Everyone has financial questions. With your Guidance Resources benefit, you can get answers to your questions about budgeting, debt management, tax issues and other money concerns from on-staff CPAs, Certified Financial Planners and other financial experts, simply by calling your toll-free number.

You can also access affordable online Will preparation and Estate planning, get free shipping and handling on kitchen and food purchases from QVC, sign up for discounted newspaper subscriptions, and more. To access your discounts, simply log on to guidanceresources.com and click on the More tab in the menu bar, then click Discounts. It’s that simple.
