Expungement is the legal process of removing or sealing certain criminal records from public access. Expungement services often make it easier for individuals to get jobs, housing, or other opportunities.
The UMBC Expungement Clinic will help Marylanders with prior criminal charges obtain free legal guidance and expungement services (if eligible), easing their path to attaining housing and employment.
- Members of the Baltimore community will have the opportunity to be advised by legal professionals and have petitions prepared on site.
- This one-on-one expungement assistance can be life changing for the vast number of individuals who qualify.
- Volunteer attorneys, including UMBC alumni, as well as staff from Maryland Legal Aid and UMBC student volunteers, will be available to assist community members.
