On Wednesday, May 3, UMBC's Center for Democracy and Civic Life, Office of Government Relations and Community Affairs, and Student Government Association will host Changing Maryland.
This free catered dinner program will take place from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. in the Apartment Community Center Multipurpose Room.
Members of the UMBC community will meet state leaders, learn about issues that were addressed in the 2023 legislative session, and discuss how UMBC students, faculty, staff, and alumni can get involved in shaping legislation in Annapolis.
The state leaders will include:
- Gabriel Acevero: MD House of Delegates, District 39
- Eric Ebersole: MD House of Delegates, District 13
- Brian Frazee: Vice President of Governmental Affairs, Maryland Hospital Association
- Terri Hill: MD House of Delegates, District 12A
- Aletheia McCaskill: MD House of Delegates, District 44B
- Sheila Ruth: MD House of Delegates, District 44B
- Charles E. Sydnor, III: MD State Senate, District 44
- Caylin Young: MD House of Delegates, District 45
