PPEL 250: Introduction to Philosophy, Politics, Economics, and Law

Are you interested in how philosophical questions intersect with political and economic life?
PPEL 250 introduces you to the shared historical roots of Philosophy, Economics, and Political Science in foundational figures like Adam Smith and Thomas Hobbes, as well as contemporary frameworks from the three disciplines for analyzing moral, political, and economic dimensions of complex social problems.
No background knowledge in any of the three disciplines is required.
Note: PPEL 250 is also a gateway course for the new Undergraduate Certificate program in Philosophy, Politics, Economics, and Law (PPEL).
