UMBC pre-law students are invited to join the National Resource Defense Council (NRDC) and other advocates at a rally at the U.S. Supreme Court on Monday, October 5 at 9:00 am.
On Monday, October 5, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments in Suncor Energy (U.S.A.) Inc. v. County Commissioners of Boulder County.
The case involves a lawsuit brought by the City of Boulder and Boulder County against Suncor and Exxon. Boulder and Boulder County allege that the companies knowingly contributed to climate-related harm and misled the public about the risks of their products.
The NDRC is bringing together folks from Boulder and across the country, including extreme weather survivors, ranchers and rural farm workers, young people, public health officials, faith leaders, advocates and others, to rally right before oral arguments begin at 10:00 am.
UMBC students are welcome to join the rally.
If you plan to attend, please email Molly Timko at mtimko@umbc.edu for the NRDC staff attorney point of contact.
