The University has allowed for all students to change their grading method to P/F, or to take a late withdrawal for spring 2020 classes. Remember, there are several conditions you need to consider before changing from graded to P/F.
-Professor Birger
- HAPP core and track classes will only count towards your graduation requirements if you have a C or better in graded method. Classes will not count if you change the method to P/F. If you change your method to P/F and have a Pass you will still need to retake that class in order to graduate as a HAPP major or minor.
- The HAPP internship (HAPP 470) will count towards graduation requirements in either graded (C or better) or as a pass in P/F. You CAN change to P/F for 470 for spring 2020 and graduate with a P in that class.
- HAPP elective classes will count towards the graduation requirements in either graded or as a pass in P/F. This includes all classes in HAPP, as well as other departments. If you are taking a HAPP class as an elective, even if it is a core requirement in another track, you can elect to change from graded to P/F and count the class with a pass.
- Keep graduate school admission requirements in mind when switching to P/F if your grade is still a C or better. Selective programs may assume the original grade was a D in graded method, and it may make you less competitive. Check with your prospective programs if this applies to you.
- If you have any questions about the best option for your circumstances you should contact your advisor!
