Last night, three School of Public Policy alumni won their campaigns for public office during the Maryland 2018 elections.
John "Johnny O" Olszewski Jr. won his first campaign bid for Baltimore County Executive, having previously served on local state boards. He received his Ph.D. in Public Policy from UMBC in 2017.
Delegate Charles Syndor III of Maryland's District 44B won reelection to the Maryland House of Delegates. He was first elected to the House in 2014. He received his Master of Public Policy from UMBC in 2000.
Jon Cardin also won election as Delegate representing Maryland's District 11 in the House of Delegates. He was previously elected to the House in 2002, 2006, and 2010. Cardin received his Master of Policy Sciences in 1996.
