Just in time for the 50th Anniversary, the alumni-driven Suspended Brewing Company has created a special ale to celebrate UMBC's big milestone.
The aptly named "Grit & Greatness: An Honors Ale in Maryland," a New England-style IPA, will be available for purchase at two places on Saturday the 17th: in the House of Grit beer garden, and at the Decades Dance Party. See the calendar here.
Josey Schwartz '11, one of the Baltimore-based brewery's founders, said creating the beer for the 50th "feels like a dream."
"UMBC gave us all the foundation to become who we are today which is why it feels amazing to share the milestone of serving our company's first beer at such a big milestone celebration for the alma mater we all still identify with and love so deeply," said Schwartz.
Other members of the Suspended team are: Yasmin Karimian '11, Amir Karimian '08, and Stevo Karolenko '13. Follow them online here.
