As detailed in this news story, UMBC has received a Major Research Instrumentation (MRI) award from the National Science Foundation (NSF) totaling more than $550,000 to expand the university’s High Performance Computing Facility (HPCF).
This award builds on UMBC's excellent track record of performance on NSF MRI awards, the most recent of which had been the award supporting the creation of Pi Squared. The researchers involved in Pi Squared look forward to continuing to develop the connection between the HPCF and the Pi Squared facility as the HCPF is further developed under this new award, which is the third MRI to support the HPCF.
