On Campus
Beta Kappa Chapter was founded at UMBC on July 17th, 1999. Beta Kappa Chapter is the first Latino Greek lettered organization to be founded and recognized at UMBC. Beta Kappa Chapter is the first chapter of any latin sorority to be established in the Baltimore area. Since the day that these remarkable women entered the sisterhood, they have worked hard to educate the UMBC campus about the Latino culture and about their organization.
Beta Kappa is proudly a member of the multicultural greek council at UMBC. Beta Kappa founding sisters are also the founding members of the council.
Currently there are six active Beta Kappa sisters on campus. If you see sisters be sure to say hi and ask them about what Beta Kappa is currently up to. Recently we have worked with the Red Cross, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Casey Cares, the UMBC Peer Health Educators, Womens Center, Mosaic Center, UMBC Hispanic Latino Student Union and several other groups on campus.
