Hello!
We wanted to share a quick announcement, hot off the press, from the SURF Organizational Team:
"The Meyerhoff Scholarship Program is hosting the first Campus Connection on Wednesday, September 24, 2025! Use the listing below to help you identify which schools apply to your major, research interests, or degree goals, and work to engage them all. This event is open to all STEM students at UMBC, so please invite and encourage folks to attend.
[...]
- No need to dress up - nice everyday school clothes are fine.
- Whether you attend during the 11 am or 12 noon hour, engage ALL exhibitors that are relevant to your major/goals (staff will be on hand to assist with this). Your obligation is complete, and you're free to leave the event once you've engaged all relevant exhibitors.
- Students who don't have class at 11 am are encouraged to attend at that time, as it's generally fewer students present and you'll have an opportunity for deeper engagement and conversation.
- Don't be nervous to engage exhibitors! They are here to meet you and share information and resources. Take the initiative to introduce yourselves to them to facilitate communication (name, major, first/second/third/fourth/fifth year, degree goals(s), STEM interests, etc.) as it will help them determine what info to share with you.
- Again, you are expected to personally engage (not simply pick up materials from a table) all exhibitors relevant to your majors and/or degree goals
- Finally, enjoy the opportunity to share information with others who weren't able to attend.
