Brian Spradlin is a graduate of UMBC with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and now works as the Director of Operations at Oceaneering AGV Systems. In his current role, he oversees all operations related to the Autonomous Guided Vehicle division of Oceaneering (OASYS), including sales, research and development, engineering, manufacturing, assembly, test, installation and support. The OASYS group is a worldwide leader in safe, reliable and flexible turnkey logistic solutions based primarily on AGVs. Brianstarted his career as a mechanical engineer at Northrop Grumman and later at EVI Technology. Brian transferred to Oceaneering in 2006 as a senior mechanical engineer. In his talk, Mr. Spradlin will be discussing how his time and opportunities at UMBC helped shape his career, what people are able to do with a Mechanical Engineering degree, and about his own experiences in defense and commercial technology companies.
