Fall 2024: End-of-Semester Announcements from TGS
Hello Gathering Space Community,
Happy Winter Break! We in the Gathering Space are so grateful for the ways that you continue to make space, welcome each other, and work to lift up the role of religious and spiritual life at UMBC.
A huge shoutout to all of those who walked across the stage this past week and are now UMBC alumni! Your presence will be missed around the Center for Well-Being.
A few quick announcements before some well-deserved rest:
1) Join the Spring 2025 Bridge Builders Cohort
Looking for a way to improve your skills for dialogue? Join our second semester of Bridge Builders, The Gathering Space's difficult dialogue series which launched last fall. This series equips students with skills and tools to have hard conversations across differences. Participants will receive a $500 stipend for the semester. See the attached flyer for more details.

2) Space Reservations for Spring 2025
The time has come once more for us to request that everyone submit their semester space reservations for The Gathering Space for next semester! Please get your requests in ASAP (Deadline was December 20th).
We are debuting a new interim reservation request policy (you must be logged in to your UMBC email to view!) that includes the following information:

A new process for submitting requests for CWB 101, 118 and 122 via Qualtrics
- Specific guidance on what types of events should and should not be requested to be held in our spaces
- Expectations for when requests are submitted to us prior to the semester starting and after the semester has begun
3) Welcome Back Event & Re-Opening
The Gathering Space is closed for Winter Break and will reopen on Sunday, January 26th at 12:00pm.
Please join us for our Spring 2025 Welcome Back Event on Wednesday, January 29th from 5:00-7:00pm in The Gathering Space.
We will continue to explore this year's theme, Weaving Our Tapestry, as we take the time to gather and set intentions about our upcoming semester. As a community, we will have the opportunity to engage in a collective woven activity to continue to lift up the strands that connect us together.
Light snacks and drinks will be provided (kosher, halal, & gf options available)!
4) Spring Cleaning
Please look out for additional information about a group Spring Cleaning of the storage spaces across The Gathering Space. Just a reminder: please make sure to clear all food in Kitchenette cabinets and that food should not be left in the 109 or 103 closets.
