Congratulations to Sydnie Camassar for successfully defending her MA portfolio!
Sydnie's research is centered on Jewish folklore and folk literature, particularly those that contain dybbuks, a uniquely Jewish take on the concept of demons that possess humans, and golems, which are traditionally represented as beings made from clay that are brought to life through magic or some kind of incantation for the purpose of protecting the Jewish people. Sydnie created a collection of linked short stories based on these figures and developed her own interpretations of these myths in a fantasy setting.
Please join us on Wednesday, December 11 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. in PAHB 428 to learn more about Sydnie's research. A reception will follow.
