Artwork by imaging and digital arts student, Jason Hughes, was recently selected for display in the exhibition Washington Color Abstraction, curated by Donald Kuspit. The exhibition, sponsored by the Gabarron Foundation, “unites the original artists of the Washington Color School with contemporary artists practicing in DC today. Both inspired by an environment of bold color and pattern and influenced by the color field teachers of the 1960’s, the artists in this exhibition exemplify identities that are deeply intelligent, original, and rooted in the history of their environment. Their community reflects a deep history, rich with constant dialogue and new ideas.” Learn …
