At the Red it's always RAD
Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 8:30 AM - Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 8:30 AM
Off Campus
UMBC WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO POST A TRIP DURATION OVER A WEEK SO THE ACTUAL DAY WE ARE LEAVING THE RED IS THE 23RD OF MARCH!
With the final decision to go to the Red, here are the details:
Driving / Meet Up:
We will leave from lot 23 @ UMBC at 8:30am, please be on time!
We will most likely arrive at Lago Linda's Hideaway between 6 and 7 pm. We will stay here for the duration of the trip and then head out as a group on Sunday at 8:30am so that we can all get back and get some sleep for classes. WE ALWAYS CARPOOL SO PLEASE POST IF YOU NEED A RIDE OR CAN DRIVE!
Logistics (Driving) = Lago Linda's is 1052 miles from UMBC round trip plus about 200 miles driving around while we are there. This brings the grand total mileage to 1252 miles for the trip.
The Math-
SUV = 1252 Miles/ 15 MPG * $3.50 / 5 People = About $60 Gas
Car = 1252 Miles / 25 MPG * $3.50 / 4 People(Loss of one because of gear ) = About $45 in Gas
In essence it will be about one tank per person
Lodging:
We will be staying at Lago Linda Hideaway. This is an awesome and, in my opinion, very beautiful campsite to stay at not to mention the Lady who owns it is awesome and makes us pancakes ($3) on Saturday and on Sunday breakfast burritos($4)! The options for how to stay are either in the cabins or camping. The cabins are fully furnished and have a toilet and shower and are HEATED! The campsite as a group has a big area for chilling out under, internet, and real bathrooms with showers!
Logistics (Lodging )=
Camping - $5 a night for 8 nights = $40
Cabin* - Room for 6 people - $100 a night for Friday- Saturday, $90 a night for Sun - Thurs
The Math - $100(3) + $90(5) = $750 / 6 Persons = $125 For 8 nights!
*(We are checking if the Cabins are available and we would most likely only be able to have 12 people from the group stay in cabins - those without camping equipment, and so would need to purchase this for the trip, will get priority)
