"Hello visual arts majors and minors! Bartleby, UMBC's creative arts journal, wants YOUR submissions of your proudest artwork and photography!
If you aren't aware, Bartleby publishes yearly in the spring, and has four sections: fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, and art. Students can submit pieces of written work to the prior three sections, but the art section is where you all come in! The winner of the art section to the journal receives $100 in compensation, and their winning art is normally displayed on the front cover of the journal; the second-place prize normally has their submitted art displayed on the back cover of the journal.
If you would like to see the guidelines for submitting your art including sizing, format, and resolution, please head to bartleby.umbc.edu! Submissions are due by the first day of December (12/1) and should be sent to bartleby@umbc.edu.
In addition, Bartleby is looking to fill in with more general staff! General staff engage in the voting process for the four winners of each section, what pieces of writing and art don't win but get published in the spring and help produce ideas for community involvement and Bartleby activities. If you're interested, mark your calendars for the next business meeting being in PAHB 428 from 12:00 to 12:50 on Wednesday, October 19th. See you there!"
