If you live in the D.C. area, you’re probably as excited as we are about the upcoming annual Cherry Blossom Festival, March 16-22. But did you know that the iconic trees were a gift to the U.S. from Japan 60 years ago and represent a deep and historic friendship between the two countries?
To celebrate, Ogilvy, on behalf of the Embassy of Japan, is calling for submissions from students in the DMV area to tell the story of this special relationship through visual art. This is a first-of-its-kind opportunity to showcase the work of student artists and their college or university during one of the most buzz-worthy local events of the year.
Attached is a full brief about the project. Please note sketch submissions are due by Wednesday, February 12th. Please feel free to share, but only with students and colleagues at your school. We look forward to seeing what great ideas your students come up with!
