Work continues on the attempt to restore retiree prescription drug benefits. Several meetings with officials have been held recently and it is possible we are making progress in garnering support. In the meantime, we encourage you to contact or continue contacting your state Senator, Delegate, and Governor Moore.
The Department of Legislatives Services (DLS) prepared a document that has been distributed to Senators and Delegates. It contains information that is inaccurate and incomplete. A group of retirees has worked on the DLS document and made corrections. The annotated copy is attached. We hope this will give you the information you need to speak accurately on the subject.
Many documents have been distributed to legislators stating that Medicare Part D is comparable to the State prescription drug plan. Retirees may go to Medicare.gov as a guest, enter their prescription drug names and see how much Medicare Part D will cost them in 2024. Let your legislators know if Medicare Part D is comparable to the State plan or not. Some will pay less, but many will pay more. Let your legislators know.
Thank you for your efforts in contacting Senators, Delegates, and the Governor. Please continue to let your voice be heard.
