Accessibility Tour: Wayfinding, Skywalks and More
Raising Awareness, Connecting with Campus Partners
Friday, March 18, 2022 · 12 - 1 PM
Navigating UMBC's campus-on-a-hill as a person with a disability brings out overt and sometimes more subtle features of its accessible design. Join us to learn more and discuss:
What are the features? We have many, including a Skywalk and several upgrades that happened while we were remote.
What are the bugs? Learn more about how work with situations, whether it's contacting Work Control for a repair (410-455-2550), reporting an accessibility concern, or working with campus partners, such as Res Life FXiT and DoIT to support inclusion. Accessibility is everyone's responsibility.
We will meet outdoors at the Sondheim Statue (he is offering a seat) between the Sondheim and Math Psych Buildings on the Lower Academic Row. The tour is limited to a small group includes indoor spaces so bring your mask.
Can't make the day or time? More tours are planned. Have a (small) group? Email us to set up a day and time that works for the occasion.
Thanks to the students and staff member that made this a great event on a beautiful day! If you missed us, we have other walks happening in a few weeks.
