Accessibility Tour: Wayfinding, Skywalks and More
Raising Awareness, Connecting with Campus Partners
Friday, June 24, 2022 · 2:30 - 3:30 PM
Navigating UMBC's campus-on-a-hill as a person with a disability brings out overt and sometimes more subtle features of its accessible design. Join us to learn more and discuss:
What are the features? We have many, including a Skywalk and several upgrades that happened while we were remote.
What are the bugs? Learn more about how work with situations, whether it's contacting Work Control for a repair (410-455-2550), reporting an accessibility concern, or reporting ANY FM or ResLife repair via the ReADY system, and DoIT tickets to support inclusion. Accessibility, including effectively reporting repair conditions, is everyone's responsibility.
We will gather in the Conference Room for Accessibility & Disability Services, near the reception area for SDS on the second floor of the Math Psych Buildings on the Lower Academic Row. The tour is limited to a small group includes indoor spaces so bring your mask.
Can't make the day or time? More tours are planned. Have a (small) group? Email us to set up a day and time that works for the occasion.
Need to request a disability-based accommodation or have questions about the event or a specific location? Email the organizer via slazar@umbc.edu
