Navigating Career Launch as a Student with a Disability

In support of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, Accessibility & Disability Services and the Career Center will be hosting a student-centered event about navigating employment supports for students with a disability within hiring and employment processes. We will cover:
- What is Disability
- Matching up with Essential Functions
- Communicating within the Application Process
- Navigating Disclosure Options
- Discerning an Individualized Accommodation Plan within the Hiring Process
Also of interest for those interested in federal employment who have a Schedule A designation, Stephanie Taylor Okoukoni from UMBC's Career Center is UMBC's Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP) Coordinator has provided additional details about that program- Those expecting to graduate in the coming year that wish to participate should sign up for WRP - Details on WRP are here: https://my3.my.umbc.edu/groups/careers/posts/127433- It's open to recent graduates as well, but sign ups for this year close on October 15th and will re-open next summer, as it is an annual process.
The presentation is much broader than WRP, if you'd like to learn more about the job search process generally for students with disabilities. Sign up below and we will send the link to join us online at noon on October 9th a few days before.
Please note this is a student-centered presentation - graduate and undergraduate. Faculty/staff Disability as Diversity on the Job events for supervisors and non-supervisors will be offered separately.
