DAPi New Year - Meeting and Fall Planning (Hybrid)
Disability Pride, Leadership, Advocacy, and Education
Friday, September 13, 2024 · 5 - 6 PM
Join our initial meeting and planning session with Delta Alpha Pi (DAPi) International Honor Society for students with disabilities online or in Math/Psych 222 - it's open to any and all students with disabilities at UMBC - being registered with SDS is not required - and perhaps have fun and make friends in the process. The criteria for the Honor Society is linked below. Come meet the officers, members, and introduce yourself! Share about your classes and life, ask questions and share ideas for future meetings and fun (Spyfall was a big hit last year).
Reach out to DAPi's core group via UMBC's Discord community. If that's not your jam, or you need the link - undergrad and grad students with disabilities can email mthomps2@umbc.edu for DAPi information. Contact our president rvaldiv1@umbc.edu or vice president embera1@umbc.edu for more about the agenda and the fun - and the Discord link. Yes, transfer students and students new to their own disability identity are welcome!
ADS continues to connect interested students and encourage DAPi success. Send along questions about DAPi, expressions of interest and any access needs to
mthomps2@umbc.edu.
Connect with meeting online via Webex with the link above to attend.
Additional disability-related student groups include:
- UMBC NAMI (mental health)
- Sign of Life (ASL)
- Cancer Awareness Society
- College Diabetes Network - now being re-branded as Diabetes Link
- Disability Advocacy Union
