Alea Iacta Est: Ancient Dungeons & Dragons
Get your gladius ready!
The Ancient Studies Council will be hosting ALEA IACTA EST--our Greco-Roman inspired roleplaying game! It will be a one-off, single session game and anyone, new or familiar to Dungeons & Dragons, is welcome to join. Character sheets will be provided with respective mythic heroes, poets, authors, and the sort found across the Greco-Roman world.
Mythic heroes, poets, authors, and historical figures alike will find themselves amidst the clutches of a troubling-goddess. Some know her as Discordia, others know her as Eris, but all too familiar is the mayhem she has possessed since time immemorial. Those unlucky enough are transported to where her sphere of influence holds strongest. Here, in her winding tower, those trapped will encounter once-familiar landscapes--of myth and of history--twisted beyond belief. The only way out? Help correct Eris' versions of classic tales and events through combat, wit, and the favor of the Gods.
The session will be played on the D&D 5e system on the virtual platform Roll20, and we will be having a briefer on the rules before the game starts. You must make a Roll20 account in order to join the game. We will be voice-chatting over Discord to make use of immersive features for this virtual session. To submit your own character sheet ideas, and ask any questions, please email Dakota Pereira (dpereir1@umbc.edu). Remember to make your Roll20 account, join our Ancient Studies Council Discord, and fill out our google form if you are interested in playing.
Our world of twisted myths awaits you!
