Celebrating outstanding leadership on Sept. 25
Wednesday, September 25, 2024 · 4 - 7 PM
Dear UMBC Community,
Please join us in celebrating the long UMBC career of former vice provost and dean of the Graduate School, Janet Rutledge, on Wednesday, September 25, 4 – 7 p.m. in the Skylight Room.
Janet retires after 15 years as vice provost and dean, and 23 years at UMBC. In addition to her outstanding leadership, she and her team were instrumental in implementing several initiatives that have enhanced graduate student success. Janet served previously as associate dean, senior associate dean, and interim vice provost in the Graduate School, as well as a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering.
She has been very active in graduate education on the national and international scene, including the Council of Graduate Schools Board of Directors, the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) Advisory Board, and the GRE (Graduate Record Examinations) Advisory Board. To learn more about Janet's contributions to the UMBC community, see the campus announcement sent earlier this summer.
Please join us on September 25 to show our gratitude for her many years of service to UMBC.
Sincerely,
Manfred H.M. van Dulmen
Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs
