Different Color, Same Struggle
Event at College Park
Monday, April 18, 2016 · 6:30 - 9 PM
Off Campus : UM - College Park
On behalf of La Unidad Latina, Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity, Incorporated, we would like to cordially invite you to our “Different Color, Same Struggle” event. The program will feature Felipe Luciano (founder of the Young Lords) and Paul Pumphrey (leader of the Black Panthers) in a moderated panel for the majority of the event. It concludes with the audience engaging in a productive dialogue with each other to discuss ways to improve diversity and social change in our communities. The goal is to have an open and informative forum on how the radical social movements of the past can help teach young activists important lessons on coalition building and organizing for impact given recent events that have occurred in society.
This event will take place on Monday, April 18th, 2016 in the Grand Ballroom of the Stamp Student Union at the University of Maryland, College Park. This event is FREE and open to the general public. Tickets are on a first come, first serve basis and can be found here: http://tinyurl.com/jxcpvoe
