ANCIENT STUDIES PROFESSOR MICHAEL F. LANE AWARDED A PERMIT TO EXCAVATE IN GREECE
Congratulations to Professor Michael F. Lane of the Ancient Studies Department for being awarded a highly coveted permit to conduct the project “Kopaic Cultures, Economies and Landscapes” (KOCECOLA) in collaboration with the Ephorate of Antiquities of Boiotia over four seasons (2023-2026). The permit, one of only two awarded this year, will enable Professor Lane to excavate at the site of Agios Marina Pyrghos in order to further his trailblazing explorations of late Bronze Age agricultural practices and settlement development in the Lake Kopaïs region of Boiotia.
