Please join us for a lecture by Dr. Randolph Ford, "Imperial Historiography and 'Barbarian' Rulers: Comparing Roman Late Antiquity and Early Imperial China."
This lecture explores ethnic identity and political legitimacy in two of the most prominent historical works of the period, paying particular attention to the respective ethnographic traditions and their role in constructing notions of Self and Other.
The event will take place in PAHB 441 from 5:00 to 6:00 PM on Tuesday, February 27, 2024.
