In March, Jordan
presented a poster session at the 2018 NASPA Annual Conference in
Philadelphia titled, "For Us By Us (F.U.B.U): The Implementation of
Black Student Development Centers at Predominately White Institutions"
and co-presented with Campus Life Staff on a session titled: "Build With
Them, Not For Them: Students as Culture Building Partners". Through
NASPA, he was able to secure an internship over the summer at California
State University, Fullerton working with ProjectRAISE, an initiative
that attempts to bring low income and hispanic students to pursue STEM
fields. He will also help their School of Natural Science and
Mathematics build and improve their first year programs that aim to
improve retainment rates of STEM students.
