Undergraduate Research Symposium
We are very pleased to announce that the Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium in the Chemical and Biological Sciences will take place on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at UMBC.
As in prior years, the Undergraduate Research Symposium (URS) invites mentor-approved submissions from undergraduates investigating any aspect of chemistry, biology, or biochemistry. Research is shared in a daylong event that typically offers more than 200 student contributions and gathers more than 400 beginning scientists, mentors, PIs, and other guests. Free STEM-focused workshops are offered during the morning and the afternoon. The event features two poster sessions judged by qualified attendees. Judges will rank first and second place in each poster category and the day concludes with the presentation of awards (non-financial).
Student researchers interested in participating are encouraged to read the instructions provided on the website http://cnmssymposium.umbc.edu/presenters. The abstract submission deadline is Midnight EDT, Thursday, September 20, 2018.
Faculty judges are critical to the success of the event. We ask faculty members to please consider volunteering when registering. Additional information about judging is provided on the website:http://cnmssymposium.umbc.edu/judges
Judges are asked to complete advanced registration by Midnight EDT, Sunday, September 30, 2018
Registration is free and required. Light-fare refreshments and lunch will be provided. https://cnmssymposium.umbc.edu/registration/
