Teaching with Transparent Assignments: An Easy Tool for Boosting Student Performance, Reducing Grading Time, and Improving Inclusivity
Note: This workshop counts as an ASSOCIATE Level CIRTL Workshop!
For those of you who want to be professors, Dr. Robin Cresiski would love to introduce you to a concept called Transparent Assignment Design. This is a way to construct assignments for students that leads to much better assignments being turned in - that means faster grading for you - and it also reduces equity gaps between populations that historically haven't performed equally.
Dr. Cresiski has given this workshop to hundreds of faculty, some of which have been teaching for 30+ years, and they always say: "I wish I had known about this sooner!!"
Join Dr. Cresiski on Friday May 1st, 10am-11am, to learn about this technique and get a chance to practice it. Whether you're teaching now or plan to in the future, you should be able to get a great skill from this workshop.
