Translational Life Science Technology Info Session; Come Learn About the Biotechnology Program at UMBC
Calling all students interested in Biotech - 11/2 at 12pm
Jackson Hopkins will be joining us in the TLC on Monday, November 2nd, from 12-1pm, to discuss UMBC’s dynamic TLST program. As a TLST major, you’ll receive training in three core areas of interest – cell and molecular biology, data science, and engineering. TLST graduates go on to a wide variety of careers in the vibrant and rapidly growing biotechnology field, including jobs in the private sector, government agencies, and academia.
The TLST major is located at the Shady Grove campus in Rockville, Maryland. It is nestled between major biotech companies such as AstraZeneca, Novavax, the NIH (National Institutes of Health), and more. 94% of TLST graduates have a job in biotech within 3 months of graduation, and the relationships that students can make with these biotech companies during their tenure at UMBC is unmatched. See attached document for more insight about where our TLST students find employment.
If you have been thinking about what a career in biotechnology can look like – and how to get there – we highly recommend attending this brief info session! Mr. Hopkins will walk participants through how to gain admission into the program, give a sneak peek at the Shady Grove facilities, and talk about research opportunities that our TLST students engage in.
Monday, November 2nd, at 12pm – we hope to see you there! Snacks and end-of-semester raffle entries will be available.
