The incumbent will provide administrative and event based support to the Department of Campus Life. The office assistant will work closely with the Administrative Assistants team to ensure quality customer service to students, staff and campus partners.
Support programs and initiatives in partnership with Campus Life staff (i.e. Involvement Fest, Homecoming, Awards programs, etc).
Provide information regarding campus involvement opportunities.
Assist with the research of ideas to improve campus services and initiatives.
Answer telephone(s), provide information, direct phone calls and take messages as needed.
Provide front desk coverage and clerical support.
Sort and distribute mail and deliver items to campus partners.
Monitor Campus Life email account.
Other duties as assigned
Must be a full-time or part-time undergraduate student at UMBC
All student employees must have and maintain at least a 2.5 semester and cumulative GPA
Available during business hours Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM- 5:00 PM
Demonstrated ability to interact respectfully and civilly with diverse individuals
Strong organizational, time management and interpersonal skills
Ability to initiate and complete projects independently
Proficient in Internet-based research, Microsoft Office products, myUMBC, Google Calendar and Gmail;
Prior administrative, office, and/or customer service-related experience
Campus involvement and knowledge of Campus Life programs and events
