CWIT Showcase
Come Learn From Your Fellow Students' Experiences!
Friday, April 24, 2015 · 3 - 5 PM
Check-in begins at 3pm in the hallway outside of ITE 227. You will receive the rest of the room numbers in the program when you arrive.
The annual CWIT Showcase event allows current Scholars and Affiliates to share with their peers what they have learned through internships, research, class projects, and other experiences. You will have the chance to attend three student-run presentations, giving students an experience similar to that of a professional conference.
Presentations you will be able to choose from include learning about:
* Working at Google from a student who interned there last summer
* Exploring ways to combine artistic interests with technical skills
* What it's like to attend the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing
* "Facts on Fracking"
* Effectively communicating scientific ideas
* Engineers Without Borders and the Kenya Clean Water Project
* Improving spatial visualization skills among engineering majors at UMBC
* The impact of involvement in student organizations
* Upcoming opportunities for students interested in cybersecurity
