CWIT Showcase will be held on Friday, April 21, from 3-5pm, beginning in ITE 102, where you will receive your event program and hear a brief overview. The event involves short presentations from current Scholars and Affiliates on a variety of topics, so you will get to choose which sessions you would like to attend. The sessions will take place in various rooms in the ITE Building.
There is no specific dress code for this event, so feel free to dress casually. Pizza will be served at the end of the event.
Topics you could learn more about include:
- How computer engineering students designed a new app and why it's important to include diverse perspectives in the development process
- How to fit in studying abroad as a computing or engineering major and what two students' experiences were like
- What it's like to attend the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing, a huge conference in Orlando in October, and how you could get funding to attend
- What it's like to do research on campus with faculty and in partnership with a large company like IBM
- What it takes to study for and take different certification exams related to computing and cybersecurity
- And more!
You do not need to register for this event; just show up in ITE 102 at 3pm on Friday. If you arrive late, still go to ITE 102 to receive a program and find out where to go next.
