Greetings CWIT Affiliates!
The final session in the CWIT Affiliates Workshops series will be merged with an exciting event including Scholars, Associates and Affiliates!
CWIT is partnering again this semester with STEMRules to bring a panel of cybersecurity professionals from diverse backgrounds to campus. This semester's panelists are from across the financial industry. Please see below for details.
What: Diverse Cybersecurity Perspectives in the Financial Industry
When: Friday, May 12, 12-1:30pm

Our panelists include:
- Dominique Rice, Information System Security Officer, Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation: Ms. Rice holds a BS in Applied Science and Criminal Justice, an
MS in Criminal Justice/Information Technology Management, and is currently working on a
PhD in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance.
Jarrod Parks, Senior Cyber Security Engineer,
Capital One Financial Corp.: Mr. Parks has a BS in Computer Information Systems and has completed the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification.- Hugo Moreno, Cyber Security Professional, Freddie Mac: Mr. Moreno is an alumnus of the University of Maryland in College Park and currently works with threat and vulnerability analysis.
- Mona Sawant, Cyber Security Manager, Fannie Mae: Ms. Sawant holds two masters degrees (an MBA/Masters in Information Systems from George Mason University and an MS in Cybersecurity from UMUC) as well as four industry certifications.

The CWIT Affiliates Workshops will cover topics such as leadership, academic success, personal development, career exploration and planning, community building among women (and their allies) within COEIT, wellness, and much more!
The CWIT Affiliates Program exists to facilitate a strong sense of community and connection among undergraduate women in the College of Engineering and Information Technology (COEIT). All women and interested allies majoring in engineering and IT are invited to become a CWIT Affiliate.
